BOTOX® (Botulinum Toxin Type A) injection is a treatment for severe primary axillary hyperhidrosis patients who are not responding to topical therapies such as over-the-counter antiperspirants and topical aluminum chloride hexahydrate.
BOTOX® is not a cure, but an ongoing treatment for severe primary axillary hyperhidrosis not adequately managed with topical agents. BOTOX® treatment helps control severe underarm sweating by temporarily blocking the nerves that stimulate the sweat glands. Research has shown that treating severe primary axillary hyperhidrosis with BOTOX® may provide effective temporary control in many patients.
